Place Hunt – Blarney at The Sail
Quote of the Day:
“Do what makes you happy. Be with who makes you smile. Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”
~ Unknown ~
When I first stepped in this bar, I was with my boss and 2 managers to conduct an interview session for a position, interesting right? Yes, my boss always think of something special, even for the interview.
The Blarney History
Anyway, come back to the topic, after I went back home, I was trying to do some research thru’ internet but it’s quite disappointing as there are not much information can be found. However, according to my boss, the Blarney is actually an Irish pub which being named after the Blarney Stone and Blarney Castle, which is one of the famous attraction at Blarney town, Ireland.
There is a very interesting legend of this stone which is by kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle, it is claimed that one can receive the “Gift of the Gab” (eloquence, or skill at flattery or persuasion). The legend has several suggested roots, involving members of the MacCarthy dynasty – builders and original owners of Blarney Castle. You can read this for your reference: The Blarney Town
The Blarney @ The Sail
Located in The Sail @ Marina Bay on Marina Boulevard, The Blarney is a watering hole in the heart of the city set in a contemporary Irish environment for those executives and bosses to hang out and have drinks. There are also companies hosting events or functions at this glamour place.
The Blarney is a restaurant and pub that serves Western and Asian Food, and the most important, the alcohol for those liquor lovers.
I must admit that I’m not a Guinness Stout fans but the draught here is really smooth and good. Highly recommended!
The Private Room – Shamrock Lounge
Their private room can accommodate about 40 guests. The last two times I booked it for a 15 person gathering and it’s free of charge. 🙂
If you want to have a cozy and high class environment with affordable price, this is your best choice to hang out or host a small event. This place is very crowded during weekday after working hour compare with weekend as most of their customers are office crowd. I think this is the main reason that they are closes on Sunday.
