Food Hunt – Wild Rocket @ Mount Emily

Honey Quote of the Day:

“Success is not the key to happiness. Hapiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”
 Herman Cain

Initial plan was to have a dinner at Orchard, to celebrate colleague’s birthday. However, due to the high traffic after working crowd, we decided to drive to Mount Emily to search for a better location. Therefore we found this place, the Wild Rocket at Mount Emily. 🙂

The ambience is very nice and cozy. You will be surprised that at this ‘ulu’ place, their tables are almost full even though it’s a week day.

They served this while we were waiting for our dinner. The bread is very warm and soft, with a little cheesy and salty taste.

Wild Rocket served more fusion western food. The chef is actually using Chinese ingredient to create different Western dishes. It’s something quite unique and creative.

Chef Willin’s 4-Course Menu ($62.00++)

Starter – Pomelo Salad with Tiger Prawns and Light Coconut Dressing

It’s refreshing and the dry shrimp taste wasn’t too strong.

2nd Course – Seafood Crustacean Oil Spaghetti with Sakura Ebi

Love the Sakura Ebi taste with the spaghetti, yet not really spicy.

Mains – Black Grouper Cambodian Amor & Kaffir Lime

Maybe because of the previous spaghetti stronger taste, the black grouper is inferior comparing to the previous course. However, the fish meat is very fresh and juicy.

Sweet – Pandan-infused Panna Cotta with Gula Melaka

I’m not a pudding person actually. But this Italian dessert impressed me after my first mouth trying. It is very soft yet smoothy and melting in your mouth. Normally it is served with wild berries, caramel, chocolate sauce or fruit coulis. But this panna cotta was gelled very well with the Gula Melaka sauce, must try!

Additional Mains order – Dory Spaghetti with Mui Chai Preserved Vegetable ($23.80)

I expect the Mui Chai taste stronger but surprisingly it goes quite well with the dory fish and spaghetti.

My Sweets – Dark Lava Chocolate Gateau with Milk Ice Cream ($15.50)

One of my favorite dessert, it’s good but not the best.

The place itself is located in such a calm and serene atmosphere and to add to that the look and feel of the restaurant is truly classy and elegant, with the small little decor items. Overall the food are quite decent. For those food lovers, you should give it a try. 🙂
